A Case of Adenosquamous Carcinoma of the Lung in Usual Interstitial Pneumonitis

Abstract

It has been generally accepted that interstitial pulmonary fibrosis is associated with the development of lung cancer But the exact role of interstitial pulmonary fibrosis and it's predisposition for lung cancer is not known at the present time The prevalent histologic types of carcinoma arising in the lung with interstitial pulmonary fibrosis are adenocarcinoma; squamous cell carcinoma; small cell carcinoma; and large cell carcinoma But adenosquamous carcinoma in the interstitial pulmonary fibrosis is very rare We report a case of adenosquamous carcinoma of the lung which is a rare histologic type developing m the usual interstitial pneumonitis
