Abstract
During the 3 years and 7 months from 1987 March to 1990 September; 88 infertile patients were treated with clomiphene citrate(C.C); human menopausal gonadotropin(hMG); human chorionic gonadotropin(hCG) for unexplained infertility and anovulatory infertile patients. Eleven patients were ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome and the incidence of ovarian hyperstimulation was 12.5%; 4 in milde hyperstimulation; 4 in moderate hyperstimution; 3 in severe hyperstimulation. Clinical symptoms usually appear within 7 days after the hCG injection. Hyperstmulation did not develop when hCG was withheld and ocurred when the size of ovary hy ultrasonography over 10cm in diameter. This syndrome infrequently appeared as a complication of ovulation induction with clomiphene citrate; human menopaual and chorionic gonadotropin but the risk of moderate or severe OHSS is high if the symptoms is neglected.
