A Case report of uterine leiomyoma treated with D-TrpMuteinizing hormone releasing hormone

자궁 평활근종의 치료에 D-Trp -Luteinizing Hormone Releasing Hormone의 사용과 효과에 관한 1례 보고

Abstract

The 24 years old menstruous female having one huge uterine leiomyoma was treated with D-Trp6-LHRH. D-Trp6-LHRH is superactive agonist of LHRH and suppresses the secretion of gonadal steroids; so it can reduce the estrogen dependant myoma size remarkably. There were many case reports of the good clinical effect of D-Trp6LHRH. But the size of uterine myoma in this patient did not reduce remarkably after the total 6th injection of D-Trp6-LHRH; and uterine myomectomy was performed one month later after the last injection. The light microscopic finding of resected leiomyoma showed diffuse marked hyaline degeneration throughout the entire myoma mass. These findings suggest that this tumor is hormonally inactive due to the insufficient estrogen receptor via hyaline degeneration of myoma mass; so do not respond to suppressed estrogen level.
