| Abstract |
|
Hemorrhoids has been treated surgically since antiquity and there can be no doubt that homo-rrhoidal mass can be best, eradicated by excision.
However postoperative pain has been so severe that non-surgical methods has been devised recently.
Cryosurgery, with or without adding ligation, is much more appealing to the patient than standard surgical technique because that cryosurgery is ambulatory and simp]e procedure and has minimal pain and disability.
If we understand dearly the pathophysiology of cryosurgery and use meticulous technique for homorrhoidal repair, the results of cryohemorrh?idectomy are gratify to surgeons too.
So we briefly reviewed experimental analysis of cryodestructive mechanism, dinica] application of hemorrhoids including method，and the follow-up results of 32 cases we experienced recently as follows:
1. Over two-thirds of our cases were relatively free to minimal pain while be]ow one-thirds complained of pain with more than seven day off duty.
2. ^Ve observed 3 recurrent or residual hemorrhoids.
3. 9 cases of skin tag "were noticed and 3 of them required re-cryodestruction.
4. Unpleasant discharges was observed in 3 cases.
5. Insignificant bleeding was found in 5 cases. |
