Pregnancy outcome following microsurgical fimbrioplasty

Abstract

A microsurgical technique of fimbrioplasty has been utilized in 26 patients operated oil by the authors from August 1983 through December 1984, and they have been followed up for 5 to 22 months postoperatively in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, School of Medicine, Keimyung University. Forty-three percent of 26 patients who had a pure microsurgical fimbrioplasty conceived postoperatively. Three of these 11 pregncies was ectopic. Uterine pregnancy was achieved in 31% and ectopic pregnancy in 12% of this scries. It is of interest that 54% (6/11) of those patients achieving a pregnancy did so within first 6 months of surgery.
