Abstract |
The accurate diagnosis of disorders of calcium homeostasis requires the direct determination of ionized calcium. The major problem in the direct measurement of ionized calcium with a calcium selective electrode is the dependance on an anaerobic enviroment.
Authors measured plasma ionized calcium from 102 hospitalized patients without calcium metabolic disorders.
Mean values v/ere 1.16土 0.24m mol/L and 53. 0% of total calcium. Within batch precision for the ICA 1 were 1. 28±0.01(n = 2?) and coefficient of variation was 1.44%. Authors report 6 months' experiences with ICA 1 ionized calcium analyzer.
