Abstract |
Acute injury of brachial artery usually results from penetrating or lacerated injury in the arm.
Sometimes it may be associated with humeral fracture or elbow dislocation. Although injury of
brachial artery combined elbow dislocation without fracture is extremely rare; rapid assessment
and prompt treatment are essential to prevent serious complications. We report a case of brachial
artery transection combined isolated open elbow dislocation. The patient was successfully
treated by reverse great saphenous vein graft for ruptured brachial artery and bridging external
fixation for unstable elbow. |
