Abstract
Parovarian tumor comprises about 10% of uterine adnexal tumor and is probably of paramesonephric; mesothelial or mesonephric origin. Most of them are benign and malignant tumors occur very rarely. The tumor usually occurs in premenopausal woman and rarely in adolescence. We present a case of parovarian serous borderline tumor occurring in adolescence. As far as we know; this is the first case of parovarian serous borderline tumor of adolescence in Korean literature. A 16-year-old female underwent cystectomy for cystic mass in mesosalpinx; apart from ovary and fallopian tube. The inner surface of the cystic mass showed a cauliflowerlike mural nodule; which was composed of papillary structures covered with atypical cells. Stromal invasion was not observed. The histologic features are similar to serous borderline ovarian tumor.
