Symptomatology of Alzheimer's Disease

Abstract
AD is one of the most prevalent degenerative CNS diseases among the elderly. It is characterized by the insidious onset and relentless gradual progression of symptoms and is manifested with a variety of impairments in neurocognitive functions, mental symptoms and functions. There is no causative treatment for the condition. Average survival is estimated 7 to 10 years, ranging from 2 to 25 years, from the onset of clinical symptoms. Pneumonia is the most frequent cause of death in the late stage.
