As an open access journal, Keimyung Medical Journal (KMJ) will follow the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing version 4.0 (https://doaj.org/bestpractice) developed by Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), the Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA), and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME).

The official journal title is the Keimyung Medical Journal (KMJ) of ISO is Keimyung Med J.

The KMJ team endeavors to make a good website. KMJ website demonstrates that care has been taken to ensure high ethical and professional standards. It does not contain any misleading information, including any attempt to mimic another journal/publisher’s site.

3. Journal Schedule

KMJ is published two times a year (June 15 and December 15).

4. Archiving

Full text of KMJ has been archived in National Library of Korea (http://www.nl.go.kr). According to the deposit policy (self-archiving policy) of Sherpa/Romeo (http://www.sherpa.ac.uk), authors cannot archive pre-print (i.e., pre-refereeing), but they can archive post-print (i.e., final draft post-refereeing). Authors can archive publisher's version/PDF. KMJ provides the electronic backup and preservation of access to the journal content in the event the journal is no longer published by archiving in National Library of Korea.

5. Copyright

Copyright to all published materials is owned by Keimyung University School of Medicine. All authors should agree to the copyright transfer during the submission process.

6. Licensing

KMJ is an Open Access journal distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial License (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/) that permits unrestricted non-commercial use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. Author(s) do not require permission to use any tables or figures published in KMJ in other journals, books, or media for scholarly and educational purposes in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative’s definition of open access.

7. Publication Ethics and Related Editorial Policies

The journal adheres completely to the ethical guidelines for research and publication described in Guidelines on Good Publication (http://publicationethics.org/resources/guidelines), the ICMJE Guidelines (http://www.icmje.org), and Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing (joint statement by COPE, DOAJ, WAME, and OASPA; (http://doaj.org/bestpractice).

8. Peer Review

KMJ reviews all manuscripts received. A manuscript is first reviewed for its format and adherence to the aims and scope of the journal. The next step is to check for plagiarism or duplication through a similarity check, after confirmation that no ethical violations have been detected, it is peer reviewed by at least two anonymous reviewers selected by the editors. The authors’ names and affiliations are removed during the double-blind peer review.
Acceptance of a manuscript is based on the critiques and recommendations of the reviewers. An initial decision will normally be made within four weeks of receipt of a manuscript, and the reviewers’ comments are sent to the corresponding author by e-mail. If choosing to proceed, the corresponding author must indicate all revisions that have been made in response to the reviewers’ comments item by item. Failure to resubmit the revised manuscript within four weeks of the editorial decision is regarded as a withdrawal. If a revision extension period is required, the author should contact the editorial office.
The editorial board notifies the results of the manuscript's deliberation to the corresponding author in one of the following types: accept, minor revision, major revision or reject.

KMJ is an open access journal. A free full-text is available for free of charge from the first issue to the latest issue at http://e-kmj.org.

This journal is owned by the publisher, Keimyung University School of Medicine.

13. Author Fees

Page charges, article processing fees, and submission fees are not imposed. KMJ is a open-access journal, meaning that there are no fees on the authors' side

14. Other Revenue

Revenue sources of journal are from the support of publisher (Keimyung University School of Medicine) and advertising rates.

15. Advertising

KMJ does not accept advertisements.

16. Direct marketing

Journal propagation has been done through the journal web site and distribution of an introduction pamphlet. Invitations to submit a manuscript are usually focused on the presenters at conferences, seminars, or workshops if the topic is related to the journal's aims and scope.
